Directions

First choose the number of divisions by typing ’50’, ‘100’, or ‘250’. Then, name the largest main administrative divisions in terms of population (tried to use first-level but occasionally 2nd, also included a few special territories that may not be classified as admin divisions) of each European country – they will be blue shaded areas and turn red as you guess them. Russia/Turkey only show regions within Europe. Regions/areas outside continental Europe are included for some countries – you may have to zoom out to see those if they qualify. ‘Top 10’ etc categories bottom right refer to top by population. For smaller countries not divided up just name the country to fill it in. NOTE: this quiz will take a few moments to load, so you may have to wait for the map to display.

The only minor problem I see with this quiz is that if you guess a region that contains an enclave before you guess the enclave both will become red… e.b. Brandenburg before Berlin or Lower Austria before Vienna. If unfixable then it’s better to guess enclaves first or one might risk forgetting obvious cities.
