MLB All-Stars Batting Triplets Blackout

Upon clicking START you will be presented with a 5×5 grid of 25 MLB players who were an All-Star selection at least once and started their MLB career in 1970 or later.

The object of this quiz is to choose the top 3 in the given category for the players shown in the grid. When you begin you’ll be given 25 different players plus a category to name the top 3 in, which will display just above the grid. For example, if the category says ‘Top 3 Most Home Runs’ you are to click on the 3 players with the most career HR's. If it says ‘Top 3 Earliest 1st Season’ you are to click on the 3 players whose first year was the earliest. You can deselect the first or second player you chose on by re-clicking it, but when you choose the 3rd player they will be submitted, removed from the grid, and you will get a score from 0-100 based on how close your set of 3 comes to the optimum set of 3 (which will be shown as a ‘Rank’ on top out of the # of possible sets of 3 for the last choice). When you’ve answered all 8 sets of 3 leaving only 1 player the quiz is over. You get a 100 points bonus for completing the sets making for a total possible score of 2500.

You get 5 minutes to identify as many MLB All-Stars as you can from their image. Upon clicking start, you will be given an All-Star's name on top of the table of 25 photos. Double-click on that player to choose them. If you guess correctly, it will add toward your total and that player will be removed and the players will shift with a new one being added in the bottom right. If you guess incorrectly, you are penalized 5 seconds and the player you click on is still removed and the players shift with a new one being added.

Note - a handful of player names will have their career span as the name matches that of another All-Star.
