US 100 Closest Cities – Choose Any City
DirectionsBegin by typing in any US city/town/etc in the format City, State – i.e. ‘Boston, MA’ – for a handful of places with the same name in the same state you will need to add a number corresponding to the population rank of that name in that state – i.e. ‘Madison, WI1’ for the largest of the two Madison, WI’s. That city will appear as a pink marker and the 100 closest cities/towns/etc to that city (not including the one you chose) will also appear. High scores are kept only for cities of 25K+ population. ‘Closest Cities’ on bottom left shows the top number of closest cities in a row you have completed (i.e. a ‘3’ if you have the 3 closest but not the 4th). Object is highest population among 100 closest, not total places.
None of the percentages afterward are working. They all just say
#1 town, state – town%
that only happens if you are the first person to play the quiz using that starting city
For anyone who wants to do only Montana towns, the best one is havre, mt. you dont get any towns from other states.
Surprised this is missing Downers Grove IL! Countryside too
wait it is there…just type ‘Downers Grove, IL’ and it should zoom in to it.
Ah I see, I was guessing the closest cities to Chicago and I guess DG just didn’t make the cut. The pink marker shows up if I type it in first to guess DG’s closest cities but on Chicago’s closest cities the marker for Westmont just east of DG shows up but not DG.
Native Utahn, here. I enjoy these USA geography quizzes. For this particular quiz, I chose to name the 100 closest cities to Las Vegas, NV. One of them appears to be “Cedar Highlands, UT”. It doesn’t show up on Google Maps as a legitimate city. The closest geographical town I could find was Hamiltons Fort, UT (which is unincorporated, apparently). Anyway, I hope I am not coming across as rude or critical. I had to compare this map with Google Maps. I kept trying to put in “Hamiltons Fort” but the quiz wouldn’t accept it. So, my point is, there doesn’t appear to be a “Cedar Highlands, UT”. What came up when I entered “Cedar Highlands” were “Cedar Highlands Drive” and “Cedar Highlands Commons Drive” which appear to be landmarks.
looks like they were incorporated and then voted not to be…

I’ll remove it when I update US cities next before long
