US All Metropolitan Statistical Areas
DirectionsName all US Metropolitan Statistical Areas in the 50 states. They are typically named after the largest city but occasionally with a 2nd or 3rd largest city, which are also accepted answers. The OMB defines a Core Based Statistical Area as one or more adjacent counties or county equivalents that have at least one urban core area of at least 10,000 population, plus adjacent territory that has a high degree of social and economic integration with the core as measured by commuting ties. The Core Based Statistical Areas currently defined by the OMB include the Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSAs), which have an urban core population of at least 50,000.
Thanks for the update – is the southwestern Michigan MSA no longer officially referred to as Benton Harbor? I see that “Niles” is now the correct answer.
