First choose any Europe 10K+ pop city by entering it and choosing it in the drop-down box. Then, name any Europe 10K+ city in each 100 km circle/ring as the rings expand outward from your city of choice, trying to name SECOND LARGEST city in each circle. The first circle will include your city of choice as a possible answer.
PLEASE NOTE - You must type a '.' (period) after each city to submit it to prevent answering another city with a name you would be have to type to get your answer. If multiple cities have the name you submitted, only the largest one will be counted.
You accumulate points based on the population of the city you named in relation to the second largest city in the circle. A smaller city’s point total will be the ratio of its population to the largest, so if you name a city of 75K people and the largest city has 100K, you get 75 points. Naming the largest city will get you points based on the ratio of the 2nd largest city's population to the largest city's.
When you run out of time or end the quiz, you will see the current ring’s 2nd largest city at right (under ‘Answer Stats’ by your coordinates).
For example, if you choose ‘Paris’ – you will be shown a circle of radius 100 km centered at Paris. Naming any city in this circle (including Paris) will cause another ‘ring’ of radius 100 km to appear outside that circle, however - you will want to try naming the SECOND LARGEST city you can to get more points. After completing that circle, you now need to name any 10K+ Europe city in the new ring (but not within any previous circles/rings), again trying to name the 2nd largest city. If there are not two cities within the next ring of that distance, the ring will keep expanding by that distance until two cities fall within it.
city in sweden ending in t?
Upplands Väsby doesn’t work as a Swedish 2-word city. According to Wikipedia it has around 49k inhabitants.
That’s a municipality, not a city on citypopulation.de
Tromso and Troms ø don’t work as 50-100k city in Norway, isn’t it in the list?
It’s just under 50K.
are you sure? According to wikipedia and other websites it’s around 75k. maybe this number refers to a larger area

anyone knows a city in norway beginning with R; couldn’t find anything on google

what is the city in sweden with two letter name? upplands vasby doesn’t work
Nödinge-Nol maybe?
Which German city ends with o? I can’t seem to find any except Munich in Italian.
A few examples: Lemgo, Neuschoo, Vlotho
Thanks, at least Lemgo and Vlotho I should have been able to find, my bad. North Rhine Westphalia is just so tightly packed.
Norway ends with s why does it not accept sandnes?
The Norway census groups it as a single settlement under the name Stavanger.
Great quiz, would be nice to add Baltic states as a category
thought about it but there just aren’t enough cities so it would be blank a lot depending on the column.
Great quiz, very challenging entertainment. May I ask for a 2+ Words solution for Sweden and Finland? Even by using Wikipedia and Citypopulation, I was not able to find one.
Mantta-Vilppula for Finland, Nodinge-Nol for Sweden.
Thank you!
great quiz. took me a month exactly to build up from 77/100 to finally a perfect score. Learned a lot of towns since then!
Dordrecht 4th-10th in the Netherlands? Must be an error. Also Arnhem 21-30? Dordrecht should be in 21-30 and Arnhem in 11-20. Also, there is no separate Arnhem Zuid
populations in Netherlands are from “urban centres” based on figures at citypopulation.de…this is the closest thing the Netherlands has to cities according to their census. And Arnhem Zuid is a separate one according to the census.
No eastern europe as a category?
nope just the East of 25 Longitude for that area
