I used what the Australian census calls a “locality”…these places are all listed as such on citypopulation.de
Ahh my apologies! Thanks for the clarification, but from what I can gather , it appears as if “citypopulation.de” has assumed that some of these are officially gazetted towns/localities.
In Australia, all localities have a boundary, much like a state or country border. This differs to Europe or America, where it appears that one town eventually turns into another as you pass through a settlement. For example, if you were to type in the town/locality “Wilberforce” into Google Maps, it would show a red line denoting the locality boundary. Many of these areas that I listed above appear to be citypopulation.de assuming that they are different towns/localities even if they fall under the same boundary as a different town/locality.
What I guess I am trying to say (and what I’d assume “imalittlbored”‘s comment is alluding to) is that some of the data shown is unfamiliar to an Australian concept of what a town/locality is.
Hope this helps!
Yeah that may be, but this site typically uses what the census calls a locality so i try to stick with the site.
Some places just dont exist
