Type 'easy' or 'hard' to begin the quiz. Easy is a 5-degree grid, hard is a 2.5-degree grid. Then, try to name the LARGEST city in each grid square which fits the category label for each square. To name a city, you must first click on the grid square to make it have a GREEN border. Then, type in the city answer for that square followed by a '.' (a period). You are given a score from 0 to 100 based on your answer's population compared to the largest city accepted in that square (100 being you named the largest city).
LETTER: means the city starts with that letter.
NUMBER RANGE: (such as 2-5, 10+) means the city contains that many letters (excluding spaces and special characters).
POPULATION RANGE: (such as 50-100K) means the city has that range for its population.
2+ WORDS means the city name has 2 or more words (words denoted by a space or hyphen).
AK and HI are NOT included in this quiz as they often have grid squares with only one answer for this quiz.
At the end of the quiz the largest population missed answer will show in each unanswered square, and for those answered the largest city will be listed if you didn't answer it.
It looks like Sun Peaks is currently not working in British Columbia
It’s a ‘Resort Municipality’ and not counted on this quiz.
There are five towns in Alberta that I couldn’t find the names of / get names to match:
Pretty sure number 3 is Black Diamond
It doesn’t take Les Îles-de-la-Madeleine. Any way I’ve tried it doesn’t take it. I’ve tried with no accents or comma like this : “Les Iles de la Madeleine” or removing “Les” and still doesn’t take it. I don’t know how it’s possible to get it
It takes with just ‘les iles’
Why is there a supposed town in southern labrador that i cant seem to find the name of? Looks like it should be english point but i tried it several times, the mysterius town doesnt appear on google maps and i checked multiple other maps but none show this town
What’s the population of it? Hover your mouse over it to see the population. I can let you then know which town it is.
After doing what I could initially just from my brain, I noticed some oddities and thought I’d see if i could get them all using a map as a guide. Two of them appear to be incorrect – “Sun Peaks Mountain” is the town of “Sun Peaks”…. and “Northern Rockies” is not a township at all, it’s a general area and pretty much no one lives where the pin is showing.
I’m curious about the source data – a lot of the towns are missing, while other smaller towns are present.
So I believe I typically used the “municipal units” under each province that has them…

Yes it would be good if Sun Peaks could be included for Sun Peaks Mountain & Fort Nelson for Northern Rockies.
Will add those.
