Begin by typing in any European 10K+ population city in the format ‘City, Country’ – i.e. ‘Brussels, Belgium’. NOTE: there are a handful of cities with the same name in a country, to select them type in a number after the city which is based on the population rank of the one you want. For example – to select the largest Frankfurt, Germany, type ‘Frankfurt, Germany1’. That city will appear as a pink marker and the 250 closest 10K+ cities to that city (not including the one you chose) will also appear. High scores are kept only for cities of 25K+ population. ‘Closest Cities’ on bottom left shows the top number of closest cities in a row you have completed (i.e. a ‘3’ if you have the 3 closest but not the 4th). Object is highest population among 250 closest, not total places.

Then, try to name the LARGEST European city in each grid square which fits the category label for each square. To name a city, you must first click on the grid square to make it have a GREEN border. Then, type in the city answer for that square followed by a '.' (a period). You are given a score from 0 to 100 based on your answer's population compared to the largest city accepted in that square (100 being you named the largest city).

UK Circle Radius Population Challenge

The object of this quiz is to adjust each circle's radius so it contains the target population shown at the right. When you click Start you will be shown a marker on a random UK output area (there are over 200K output areas - also called Data Zones in Scotland and N Ireland - across the UK, the smallest census tabulation area). Also you will see an adjustable circle of radius 100 km to start. Adjust the circle's radius by dragging it until it contains the target number of people shown - this target will be between 25K and 5 million people. Then click submit. You are scored on how close your circle's population is to the target. Circle population is tallied by totaling all output areas within that circle.

NOTE - This quiz does NOT include any people in Ireland or other countries outside the UK, you are only trying to total the target number of people within the UK.
