Europe 50 Km Expanding Circles Any City Distance Challenge – Choose City
DirectionsFirst choose any Europe 10K+ city by entering it and choosing it in the drop-down box. Then, name any Europe 10K+ city in each 50 km circle/ring as the rings expand outward from your city of choice – NOTE – you must enter a period ‘.’ at the end of the city to submit it. The first circle will include your city of choice as guessed. The object in this quiz is to guess the city in the next ring which is as close to the previous city as possible. The closest city will get you 100 points, the farthest away answer, 0 points.
When you run out of time or end the quiz, you will see the current ring’s closest correct answer at right.
For example, if you choose ‘Paris, France’ – you will be shown a circle of radius 50 km centered at Paris and Paris will be selected. You will also see a ring of radius 50 km outside that circle. Naming a city in this ring will cause another ‘ring’ of radius 50 km to appear outside that ring and you will get 0-100 points, depending how close to Paris your city was. If a city is not within the next ring of that distance, the ring will keep expanding by that distance until a city falls within it. So if a city doesn’t fall within 50-100 kms, it will expand to be a 50-150 km ring, then 50-200 km and so on until a qualifying city is found within the ring.

Quiz Takers
1) add scoreboard in full screen
2) display what the closest city was when naming a non closest one
3) there isn’t a single time bonus? I got to 44 and just ran out of time
need to have like 30 seconds after every circle (much better than having one big time bonus at some point because if you get stuck on a hard ring the former allows you to get back into the game whereas the latter doesn’t)
The closest city shouldn’t be displayed. That just makes some people re-run the quiz until they get a perfect score
I mean with that kind of logic anyone can just use a map to cheat anyway
