Europe & US Cities Population Sorting Challenge

Directions

You begin with two European or US cities shown in the grid. Upon starting, your job is to sort the cities in order from largest to smallest by population (CITY PROPER population, not the metro area). The order is represented by the ‘1st’ thru ’16th’ in each box. You can click on a city to move it to a higher position in the list – simply click once and it will turn red, then clicked another higher-ranked city to position the first city before it. Click submit to check your answers…if they are in order you will get a new city added to the end which needs to be positioned correctly, and so on until you either get one wrong or complete all 15 levels.

Europe 10K+ Random City Grid 2nd Largest City Challenge

Type 'easy' or 'hard' to begin the quiz. Easy is a 5-degree grid, hard is a 2.5-degree grid. A grid will be randomly placed on the map. Then, try to name the SECOND LARGEST European 10K+ city in each grid square. To name a city, you must first click on the grid square to make it have a GREEN border. Then, type in the city answer for that square followed by a '.' (a period). You are given a score from 0 to 100 based on your answer's population compared to the 2nd largest city accepted in that square (100 being you named the 2nd largest city). If you guess the largest city it will be based on the ratio of the 2nd largest city's population to the largest.

At the end of the quiz the 2nd largest city will show in each unanswered square, and for those answered the 2nd largest city will be listed next to your score if you didn't answer it.

Europe Largest Cities – Choose Minimum Population

First enter the minimum population for all cities to guess followed by a period - for example '500000.' for 500K+ cities or '25000.' for 25K+ cities. Maximum population 1 million, minimum 10000. Quiz is not timed. Then, name all the Europe cities with that minimum population trying to achieve the highest number.

Every different minimum population will have a separate leaderboard.

UK Grid Top 5 Challenge

Type 'easy' or 'hard' to begin the quiz. Easy is a 2-degree grid, hard is a 1-degree grid. Then, try to name the largest UK 1K+ cities in each square IN ORDER. To name a city, you must first click on the grid square to make it have a GREEN border. Then, type in the city answer for that square followed by a '.' (a period).

The squares will start with '0/5' (or maybe fewer cities if less exist in that square). Click on a square and enter the largest city in that square not yet answered (so, the largest city if you have yet to answer a city in that square). You will then have '1/5' and need to click on that square to name the 2nd largest city, and so on until you complete all the cities up to 5 (or less if less exist). If you name an incorrect city in a square it becomes 'locked' and turns red and you can no longer accumulate cities in that square.

You receive 1 point for the largest city in a square, 2 for the 2nd largest, and so on.

At the end of the quiz the largest remaining city you haven't named will be shown in each square.

Theres no way Stockholm has 1.8 million people in the city proper. Same for Athens, no way it has 3 million, theres only about 700k within city limits.
