Type 'easy' or 'hard' to begin the quiz. Easy is a 15-degree grid, hard is a 10-degree grid. Then, try to name the LARGEST city in each grid square which fits the category label for each square. To name a city, you must first click on the grid square to make it have a GREEN border. Then, type in the city answer for that square followed by a '.' (a period). You are given a score from 0 to 100 based on your answer's population compared to the largest city accepted in that square (100 being you named the largest city).
LETTER: means the city starts with that letter.
NUMBER RANGE: (such as 2-5, 10+) means the city contains that many letters (excluding spaces and special characters).
POPULATION RANGE: (such as 50-100K) means the city has that range for its population.
2+ WORDS means the city name has 2 or more words (words denoted by a space or hyphen).
At the end of the quiz the largest population missed answer will show in each unanswered square, and for those answered the largest city will be listed if you didn't answer it.
why does quiz keep ending with time over despite choosing unlimited mode?
It shouldn’t – when you click ‘Untimed’ does it say ‘Untimed’ below the number of cities you have gotten?
What spelling is being used for Ettadhamen? Nothing I’ve tried works; even the entry for that place that was already in the “Tunisia” section of my “Huge Quiz wrong spelling” spreadsheet only has “Ettadhamen”, “At Tadaman”, and “At Tadamon”, so this isn’t even a construction you’ve used in other quizzes as far as I can tell. And can you please add the correct spellings of Taroudant (where is “Taroudannt” used??), Debre Zayit (for some reason it doesn’t accept Debre Zeyit either even though that’s the spelling displayed; I only got it after guessing Bishoftu), and Tarhuna (among many others, those are just the ones I remember)?
Ettadhamen isn’t in this quiz. The others you mentioned I added those spellings.
Thanks! The missing Tunisian E city had pop. 84,521 and Ettadhamen had pop. 85,142 so I guess I assumed these were the same. It was only through luck that I ended up guessing “El Kram”, since everywhere I’ve looked calls it either Le Kram or Al-Karam.
Is the world supposed to be hard, or am I missing something? I got 143 on my first try when I timed out in the i’s, and I tried a second time going in a different order so I didn’t get stuck going through what I thought were my bad letters and only got 131.
It’s pretty hard if you don’t get bonuses. Try naming the the largest (and, if you can, the top 3, top 5, etc.) for each letter before trying to fill a letter. Also try getting the 1 million population bonus.
