Italy Cities Top 3 Blackout

Directions

Fill in the 25 squares with the top three (in terms of population – less if fewer than 3 qualify) Italy cities based on the categories in the top row and the geographical location given in the cell. For example, if you are looking at a cell with ‘Emilia-Romagna’ in its row, and ‘Starts With M’ in the column, that cell can be filled in with ‘Modena’ as it’s one of the 3 largest cities which qualify. When a cell is completed it fills in green.

Occasionally a cell may not have any qualifying answer, in which case it will be filled in bright green and be a gimme. Cells with two answers left will have a very dark green background, those with one answer left more of an evergreen shade, and finally bright green for those which have been completed. Some cells with only 1 or 2 valid answers will start with a green shade corresponding to how many answers are left.

Europe City Grid 3rd Largest City Challenge

Type 'easy' or 'hard' to begin the quiz. Easy is a 5-degree grid, hard is a 2.5-degree grid. Then, try to name the THIRD LARGEST European city in each grid square. To name a city, you must first click on the grid square to make it have a GREEN border. Then, type in the city answer for that square followed by a '.' (a period). You are given a score from 0 to 100 based on your answer's population compared to the 3nd largest city accepted in that square (100 being you named the 3nd largest city). If you guess the largest city it will be based on the ratio of the 3nd largest city's population to the largest.

At the end of the quiz the 3nd largest city will show in each unanswered square, and for those answered the 3nd largest city will be listed next to your score if you didn't answer it.

You begin with two Europe countries/US states shown in the grid. Upon starting, your job is to sort the countries/states in order from largest to smallest by max elevation (so countries/states with the highest max elevation first). The order is represented by the '1st' thru '16th' in each box. You can click on a country/state to move it to a higher position in the list - simply click once and it will turn red, then clicked another higher-ranked country/state to position the first country/state before it. Click submit to check your answers...if they are in order you will get a new country/state added to the end which needs to be positioned correctly, and so on until you either get one wrong or complete all 15 levels.

PLEASE NOTE: Only the portions of each country geographically in Europe are counted to determine the highest points. So no Asian portion of Turkey/Russia, African portion of Spain/Portugal, Greenland, etc.

Yes, the issue is that the population is calculated in different ways and this is an issue in particular for this city, thank tou very much for your reply
