US Largest Urban Areas
DirectionsFirst choose the number of urban areas by typing ‘100’, ‘250’, or ‘all’ – then try to achieve the highest population among that many of the US 50K+ population urban areas (as defined by the US Census Bureau). Urban areas are typically named after the largest city of the area, I allow the 2nd largest as an option for the few urban areas named after multiple cities. For a handful, the name of the urban area may be a CDP or other unincorporated community.

Quiz Takers
a quiz with all urban areas in the us (regardless of population) would also be fun!
Per the census definitions, here are three metro/urban areas type quizzes:

It would be neat if we could select a specific amount of metro areas like you can with cities with the two hashtags. Like in the US Largest Cities, if you want 347 cities, you’d type #347#. I’d love it if we could do that here.
I had no idea that Concord (and basically the rest of Contra Costa County) was considered its own urban area. I always assumed we were part of the SF-Oakland UA.
