You get 90 seconds to identify as many states as you can from their flag. Upon clicking start, you will be given a state’s name on top of the table of 25 flags. Double-click on that state’s flag to choose it. If you guess correctly, it will add toward your total and that flag will be removed and the flags will shift with a new one being added in the bottom right. If you guess incorrectly, you are penalized 5 seconds and the flag you click on is still removed and the flags shift with a new one being added. State-identifying words have been removed from flags which have them.

Canada Circle Radius Population Challenge

The object of this quiz is to adjust each circle's radius so it contains the target population shown at the right. When you click Start you will be shown a marker on a random Canada dissemination area (there are over 55K dissemination areas across Canada, the smallest census tabulation area). Also you will see an adjustable circle of radius 100 km to start. Adjust the circle's radius by dragging it until it contains the target number of people shown - this target will be between 10K and 5 million people. Then click submit. You are scored on how close your circle's population is to the target. Circle population is tallied by totaling all output areas within that circle.

When you click Start you will be shown a marker on a random US census tract (there are over 80K census tracts in the US). Also you will see an adjustable circle of radius 100 miles to start. Adjust the circle's radius by dragging it until it contains the target number of people shown - this target will be between 100K and 25 million people. Then click submit. You are scored on how close your circle's population is to the target. Circle population is tallied by totaling all census tracts (small census areas of average 4K population) within that circle.

NOTE - population in Canada and Mexico is NOT counted at all, only US population within the circle.
