Most Common Binomial “Or” Verb Pairs
DirectionsName the most common verb pairs connected by the conjunction ‘or’ according to the COCA Corpus of Contemporary English. # of occurrences and first letters of each word shown. Words must be entered in the order they most commonly appear, you only need to enter the present verb form and any answers that are past or gerund will fill in. An example of a binomial verb pair connected by ‘or’ would be ‘drive or fly’ or ‘ran or walked’ (which you can also answer with ‘run walk’) – you do not need to enter the word ‘or’.
