Occasionally a cell may not have a qualifying answer, in which case it will appear blank and be a gimme.

Northeast, South, Midwest and West divisions are per the US Census Bureau’s regions. West includes AK & HI.

US Circle Population Selection Challenge

The object of this quiz is to click on the circle containing the largest population. When you begin you'll be shown 2 circles on the map with radii between 10 and 250 miles which do not intersect. Click on the one with the larger population within it (based on US census tract info) then 'Submit' - if you are correct you'll move on. One incorrect round and the quiz is over. Every 5 rounds the number of circles on the map will increase by 1. Try to build the longest streak of correct circles. Circles displayed will always be non-intersecting.

Canada Circle Radius Population Challenge

The object of this quiz is to adjust each circle's radius so it contains the target population shown at the right. When you click Start you will be shown a marker on a random Canada dissemination area (there are over 55K dissemination areas across Canada, the smallest census tabulation area). Also you will see an adjustable circle of radius 100 km to start. Adjust the circle's radius by dragging it until it contains the target number of people shown - this target will be between 10K and 5 million people. Then click submit. You are scored on how close your circle's population is to the target. Circle population is tallied by totaling all output areas within that circle.

Adjust the circle's radius by dragging it until it contains the target number of people shown - this target will be between 100K and 25 million people. Then click submit. You are scored on how close your circle's population is to the target. Circle population is tallied by totaling all census tracts (small census areas of average 4K population) within that circle.

NOTE - population in Canada and Mexico is NOT counted at all, only US population within the circle.

I used Enterprise, Empire and Eureka, but none worked for Nevada cities start with an E:

Can you confirm that? I’m seeing it as meeting all the normal criteria for being an incorporated town. Interested to see what the distinction is if I’m wrong, though.

NY towns are different than towns in other states and not included except on my “All Places” type quizzes. Generally not listed in largest cities quizzes on other sites as well.

I really don’t like the way the states are showing as out lines now. Makes the grid obnoxiously tall so you have to do a ton of scrolling.

I wonder how many people who live there, when asked where they live, reply with “Butte-Silver Bow”. LOL
