Choose a level. Then, begin naming cities. All cities starting with the city you chose and moving outward will begin filling in until you’ve hit a total population equal to or greater than your chosen level’s threshold. For example, if you choose ‘int’ – the threshold is 100,000. If you choose ‘Alice Springs’, then Alice Springs will fill in and because its population is under 100,000, successive cities moving outward from Alice Springs will fill in until the total population reaches at least 100,000. If you chose Sydney, only Sydney would fill in as its population already meets your threshold.

Australia Circle Radius Population Challenge

The object of this quiz is to adjust each circle's radius so it contains the target population shown at the right. When you click Start you will be shown a marker on a random Australia mesh block area (there are over 350K mesh blocks across Australia, the smallest census tabulation area). Also you will see an adjustable circle of radius 100 km to start. Adjust the circle's radius by dragging it until it contains the target number of people shown - this target will be between 25K and 5 million people. Then click submit. You are scored on how close your circle's population is to the target. Circle population is tallied by totaling all output areas within that circle.

Australia City Grid Blackout

Type 'easy' or 'hard' to begin the quiz. Easy is a 5-degree grid, hard is a 2.5-degree grid. Then, name any Australian city in each grid square which fits the category label for each square.

LETTER: means the city starts with that letter.
NUMBER RANGE: (such as 2-5, 10+) means the city contains that many letters (excluding spaces and special characters).
POPULATION RANGE: (such as 250-500K) means the city has that range for its population.
2+ WORDS means the city name has 2 or more words (words denoted by a space or hyphen).

At the end of the quiz the largest population missed answer will show in each square.

i got 1796/1813
missed the area above brisbane and below sunshine coast

I’m always one town short. I cant fill in all the area between Sydney and Newcastle 🙁
