Europe Closest 250K+ City Challenge

Directions

First type ‘start’ to begin. Then you will be given a European city of 250K+ population. Try to name the closest other European 250K+ population city. Only the 5 closest 250K+ European cities will be accepted as an answer. You can type ‘next’ to skip the current city. Getting the closest city will yield 100 points. 2nd thru 5th closest will give a lower point total, based both on the rank of the city (2nd thru 5th, minus 10 points for each ranking below first) and how much farther the guessed city is away than the closest city. 10 total cities and 3 minutes total time, no maximum time for a single city. 10 unique countries will be used for the cities.

UK Circle Radius Population Challenge

The object of this quiz is to adjust each circle's radius so it contains the target population shown at the right. When you click Start you will be shown a marker on a random UK output area (there are over 200K output areas - also called Data Zones in Scotland and N Ireland - across the UK, the smallest census tabulation area). Also you will see an adjustable circle of radius 100 km to start. Adjust the circle's radius by dragging it until it contains the target number of people shown - this target will be between 25K and 5 million people. Then click submit. You are scored on how close your circle's population is to the target. Circle population is tallied by totaling all output areas within that circle.

NOTE - This quiz does NOT include any people in Ireland or other countries outside the UK, you are only trying to total the target number of people within the UK.
