Type 'easy' or 'hard' to begin the quiz. Easy is a 15-degree grid, hard is a 10-degree grid. Then, try to name the largest Asian cities (min 50K population) in each square IN ORDER. To name a city, you must first click on the grid square to make it have a GREEN border. Then, type in the city answer for that square followed by a '.' (a period).
The squares will start with '0/5' (or maybe fewer cities if less exist in that square). Click on a square and enter the largest city in that square not yet answered (so, the largest city if you have yet to answer a city in that square). You will then have '1/5' and need to click on that square to name the 2nd largest city, and so on until you complete all the cities up to 5 (or less if less exist). If you name an incorrect city in a square it becomes 'locked' and turns red and you can no longer accumulate cities in that square.
You receive 1 point for the largest city in a square, 2 for the 2nd largest, and so on.
At the end of the quiz the largest remaining city you haven't named will be shown in each square.
Muscat isn’t working for me
Edit: nvm I see your comment below about why it’s not included

I know kerki, turkmenistan is on this quiz, but i just don’t know how to type it. I can’t finish the country because of this

4446/4446!!!!!!!
4248/4286!!!
4282/4285!!!!!
Great quiz!!!
suez should be included because its asian!
The majority of Suez city is in Africa. I do anyhow consider all of Egypt within Africa for purposes of my quizzes.
Is Yekaterinburg and Chelyabinsk considered European cities? I can only put Asbest in for that area.
Yes for my quizzes I consider those two in Europe. There’s no definite border between Asia and Europe there.
https://www.geonames.org/OM/largest-cities-in-oman.html a lot of cities from Oman are missing including Muscat
Geonames is a horrible source for populations. Please refer to citypopulation.de and make sure you are looking at city proper populations.
muscat is still a city with a lot of people
I thought so too, but it only has 24,099 according to citypopulation.de
accirding to wikipedia it’s over a million!
Wikipedia is a bad source of info, and is including the entire Muscat governate, I use city proper for populations.
Sakaka (Saudi Arabia) does not work, although under “World 50k+ city coverage” it does.
Why is that?
Also, Nizhny Tagil (Russia) works both on the Asian and European quizzes.
Still I very much appreciate the work you have done in creating theese quizzes,
thank you a lot.
this is good now – cities are tied directly to world city database now.
muscat doesnt work btw. also great quizzes!
Muscat city proper is very small, under 50k.
it’s not! more than million!
I dont know if it would be possible with the google maps the way it is but would it be possible to have a line showing where you draw the borders for Europe vs Asia? Or maybe just a line or two in the description. Thanks!
Much like a few other popular quiz sites I consider Russia east of the Urals Asia, along with Turkey east of the Bosphorus, and the Middle East, as well as Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan.
Hey, I feel Nicosia isn’t in this quiz. It is the capital of Cyprus
I consider Cyprus European for my quizzes, much like other large quiz sites do

Hey, i think vorkuta is missing from this quiz in northern russia.
I consider that city in the European region of Russia. It’s a judgment call.
We all consider it a part of Europe. It is west or the Ural. It is probably the easternmost city in Europe.
Great quiz! Is Muscat on here?
city proper is less than 50k actually
Did not know that wow. I thought muscat was bigger
The muscat governate has over a million people, but the city proper is in the 20k’s
