Name the federal subjects of Russia (as-of October, 2014 – Crimea and Sevastopol not included as they are not internationally recognized). Do not use punctuation. There are a couple extra borders as the most recent boundary line file I had is a couple years old – do not name older federal subjects which have merged into current ones.

Kosovo is also not internationally recognized, but it’s included in some of quizes, why?

It is by a good number of countries, so my and other large quiz websites consider Kosovo a country.

I have no idea how you’re supposed to type North Ossetia. I’ve tried probably 10 different variation, neither got accepted.

the actual name is ‘North Ossetia Alania’ – i’ll add just North Ossetia as an alternate.

What is the name of the subject north from krasnoyarsk?

It was the Taymyr Autonomous Okrug. It merged with the Krasnoyarsk Krai in 2007. Considering this quiz was last updated in 2015, you’d think the change would be shown.

i have them as two separate entities in the image but answering Krasnoyarsk will fill them both in – didn’t have a shapefile outline showing them merged.
