Directions

First choose a state and difficulty by entering the state abbreviation followed by a 1, 2 or 3 – i.e. ‘CA2’. Level 1 is easier with 1-degrees squares, level 2 is 0.5-degree squares, and level 3 is 0.25-degree squares. Then, enter the largest city in each grid square of the size based on your difficulty. Only green squares contain answers – others may not have a corresponding place (i.e. no places, all unincorporated).

You are scored on how close your circle's population is to the target. Circle population is tallied by totaling all census tracts (small census areas of average 4K population) within that circle.

US City Grid Blackout – Choose State

First choose a state by typing its abbreviation. A grid will then be placed over the state, larger states will generally have larger grid squares. Then, name any city from your chosen state in each grid square which fits the category label for each square.

LETTER: means the city starts with that letter.
NUMBER RANGE: (such as 2-5, 10+) means the city contains that many letters (excluding spaces and special characters).
POPULATION RANGE: (such as 50-100K) means the city has that range for its population.
2+ WORDS means the city name has 2 or more words (words denoted by a space or hyphen).

At the end of the quiz the largest population missed answer will show in each square.

it’s New Milford town. CT towns are part of my city quizzes (some state’s towns have closer to a city-like administration).
