Fill in the 25 squares with 1K+ UK cities based on the categories in the top row and the geographical location given in the cell. For example, if you are looking at a cell with ‘South East England’ in its row, and ‘2+ Words’ in the column, that cell can be filled in with ‘Milton Keynes.’

Occasionally a cell may not have a qualifying answer, in which case it will appear blank and be a gimme.

The possible regions of the UK for the rows are: West Midlands, Scotland, Yorkshire and the Humber, North West England, South West England, East Midlands, Wales/Cymru, Northern Ireland, North East England, South East England and East of England.

POPULATION RANGE: (such as 250-500K) means the city has that range for its population.
2+ WORDS means the city name has 2 or more words (words denoted by a space or hyphen).

At the end of the quiz the largest population missed answer will show in each range.

Most of these are not cities. Cities in the UK are not dependent on population size. They are granted city status by the monarch!

Yes technically I think they are referred to as Built Up Areas, and are listed as ‘Settlements’ on my source:
