US State 5-Somes Blackout Challenge (Premium Only)

Upon clicking START you will be presented with a 7×7 grid of 49 of the 50 US states.

The object of this quiz is to choose the top 5 in the given category for the states shown in the grid. When you begin you’ll be given 25 different states plus a category to name the top 5 in, which will display just above the grid. For example, if the category says ‘Top 5 Largest Area’ you are to click on the 5 states with the largest area. If it says ‘Top 5 Smallest Max Elevation’ you are to click on the 5 states whose max elevation is the lowest. You can deselect the first or second state you chose on by re-clicking it, but when you choose the 5th state they will be submitted, removed from the grid, and you will get a score from 0-100 based on how close your set of 5 comes to the optimum set of 5 (which will be shown as a ‘Rank’ on top out of the # of possible sets of 5 for the last choice). When you’ve answered all 9 sets of 5 leaving only 4 states the quiz is over. You get a 500 points bonus for completing the sets making for a total possible score of 5000.

The object of this quiz is to click on the circle containing the largest population. When you begin you'll be shown 2 circles on the map with radii between 10 and 250 miles which do not intersect. Canada Circle Radius Population Challenge

The object of this quiz is to adjust each circle's radius so it contains the target population shown at the right. When you click Start you will be shown a marker on a random Canada dissemination area (there are over 55K dissemination areas across Canada, the smallest census tabulation area). Also you will see an adjustable circle of radius 100 km to start. Adjust the circle's radius by dragging it until it contains the target number of people shown - this target will be between 10K and 5 million people. Then click submit. You are scored on how close your circle's population is to the target. Circle population is tallied by totaling all output areas within that circle.

Adjust the circle's radius by dragging it until it contains the target number of people shown - this target will be between 100K and 25 million people. Then click submit. You are scored on how close your circle's population is to the target. Circle population is tallied by totaling all census tracts (small census areas of average 4K population) within that circle.

NOTE - population in Canada and Mexico is NOT counted at all, only US population within the circle.

I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure the easternmost capitals is incorrect. I’ve tried MA, ME, NH, RI and both VT and CT and it does not work. If it isn’t those I have no clue what a the answer could possibly be

Yeah it’s ME, MA, RI, NH and VT. Were those five even all available in the grid when you got that category? It will give 100 to the five most eastern of the states in the grid, not overall five most eastern (assuming the top 5 aren’t all shown in the grid).

Yeah, just tried that one and it only gave me 99, not sure what is going on

Ahh sorry, the five easternmost are MA, ME, NH, RI and CT (not VT) – I just tested and they gave 100.
