World Cities Locator Streak Challenge

Directions

The object of this quiz is to locate as many of the top World cities in a row you can without going over the maximum allowable distance away. The max distance allowed is 25 km for 1M+ cities and 10 km otherwise. Double-click to locate each city in order of population. If you are under the max distance allowed you will move on to the next city. When you double-click farther away than the max distance allowed the quiz will end.

PLEASE NOTE – To identify a city, click on the ‘downtown’ area to avoid clicking on a suburb or outer edge of the city. The distance will generally be measured from close to the center of a city’s ‘downtown.’

You begin with 10 minutes (or 5 for non-Premium members) and get 10 seconds added every time you double-click to locate a city.

Double-click on the location of the city.

This format is really fun! Since the order is deterministic, I wonder if there could be a way (in this and the similar quizzes for other areas) to start from a certain point within the quiz instead of from the beginning every time? If you are trying to learn where the cities are, it is a bit of a pain to go through the first 60-or-whatever cities again and again for each new city that you don’t know the location of. Having a way to skip ahead would be really helpful for learning purposes. Maybe it could be outside of the leaderboard if it makes the scores too messy.
Either way, great quiz again-again – you really keep coming up with new great formats!

Well, doing that just means practicing more. Only you can practice in a less annoying way. You do still have to remember them all in one go to get on the leaderboard. Cities learning is quite a different format I feel. But that’s just my opinion, you can do what you want of course 🙂
