World Countries Blackout
DirectionsClick START to begin – then fill in the 25 squares with World countries (see NAMING NOTE below) based on the categories in the rows and cells. For example, if you are looking at a cell with ‘Asia’ in its row, and ‘Starts With A’ in the column, that cell can be filled in with ‘Armenia.’ Many shortened names of countries are accepted, such as DRC, CAR, UAE, UK, US, etc. Answering a country which doesn’t fit in any remaining unanswered cell will end the quiz.
Occasionally a cell may not have a qualifying answer, in which case it will appear blank and be a gimme. After completing the quiz you can simply click RESTART to play again.
Scoring is based on 100 points for each correct (or blank) square, and 5 points are subtracted for every second used on the quiz. So you are rewarded for getting squares quickly, however be careful as not to name a country which doesn’t qualify for an open cell.
NAMING NOTE: You must type a ‘.’ (period) after a country name or abbreviation to submit it, to prevent entering a country you don’t want to (i.e. Guinea when you want to enter Guinea Bissau). For country naming purposes, the following names are used: Cote d’Ivoire, Timor-Leste.

New quiz type (kinda) – a blackout for countries however you can get eliminated, this way it’s not just naming countries and hoping one fits.
Are you sure there’s a north american country which borders 4 other countries? Do sea borders count as well?
Yep there is, in Central America.
Are you sure there’s a country with no standing army that ends with e?
Yep – it’s in the Middle East.
ah… that never crossed my mind.
