Directions

First, choose type ‘100’, ‘250’, ‘500’ or ‘all’ to choose the number of urban centres you want to choose – then name that many of the world’s largest urban centres according to the European Commission trying to achieve the highest total population. Keep in mind names of urban centres are not always a city name, can also be an area/district name as well. Info on the definition of an urban centre is below:

World City Random Grid 2nd Largest City Challenge

Type 'easy' or 'hard' to begin the quiz. Easy is a 15-degree grid, hard is a 10-degree grid. A grid will be randomly placed on the map. Then, try to name the SECOND LARGEST city in each grid square. To name a city, you must first click on the grid square to make it have a GREEN border. Then, type in the city answer for that square followed by a '.' (a period). You are given a score from 0 to 100 based on your answer's population compared to the 2nd largest city accepted in that square (100 being you named the 2nd largest city). If you guess the largest city it will be based on the ratio of the 2nd largest city's population to the largest.

At the end of the quiz the 2nd largest city will show in each unanswered square, and for those answered the 2nd largest city will be listed next to your score if you didn't answer it.

World Largest Cities – Choose Minimum Population

First enter the minimum population for all cities to guess followed by a period - for example '500000.' for 500K+ cities or '75000.' for 75K+ cities. Maximum population 10 million, minimum 50000. Quiz is not timed. Then, name all the World cities with that minimum population trying to achieve the highest number.

Every different minimum population will have a separate leaderboard.

World Grid Top 5 Challenge

Type 'easy' or 'hard' to begin the quiz. Easy is a 15-degree grid, hard is a 10-degree grid. Then, try to name the largest 50K+ cities in each square IN ORDER. To name a city, you must first click on the grid square to make it have a GREEN border. Then, type in the city answer for that square followed by a '.' (a period).

The squares will start with '0/5' (or maybe fewer cities if less exist in that square). Click on a square and enter the largest city in that square not yet answered (so, the largest city if you have yet to answer a city in that square). You will then have '1/5' and need to click on that square to name the 2nd largest city, and so on until you complete all the cities up to 5 (or less if less exist). If you name an incorrect city in a square it becomes 'locked' and turns red and you can no longer accumulate cities in that square.

You receive 1 point for the largest city in a square, 2 for the 2nd largest, and so on.

At the end of the quiz the largest remaining city you haven't named will be shown in each square.

The new progress things (which I love btw!) seems to be counting each city twice.

Hmm I’m not seeing that, is that on other quizzes too? I just tried Paris then Moscow and they each showed as one.
