Hi, some suggestions for common shorter names for English clubs:
Tottenham Hotspur -> Spurs; Wolverhampton Wanderers -> Wolves; Nottingham Forest -> Forest (currently accepted “Nottingham” is not really used due to e.g. Notts County); Preston North End -> Preston; Crystal Palace -> Palace; Bristol City (there’s 2 major-ish Bristol teams, so just accepting “Bristol” would give it to people guessing Bristol Rovers); Brighton & Hove Albion -> Brighton; Glossop North End -> Glossop
I want the answers to not be too shortened and making sure they are the main club name not a very brief nickname. That’s why I usually ok it without ‘City’ or ‘Town’ but something like ‘North End’ or ‘& Hove Albion’ I want included in the answer.
