Type 'easy' or 'hard' to begin the quiz. Easy is a 5-degree grid, hard is a 2.5-degree grid. A grid will be placed randomly on the map. Then, try to name the 1st-5th largest city in each square, depending on what the square label displays (so if the label says '3rd Largest' you are trying to name the 3rd largest city in that square). To name a city, you must first click on the grid square to make it have a GREEN border. Then, type in the city answer for that square followed by a '.' (a period). You are given a score from 0 to 100 based on your answer's population compared to the target city accepted in that square (100 being you named the correct city).
AK and HI are NOT included in this quiz as they often have grid squares with only one answer for this quiz.
At the end of the quiz the target city will show in each unanswered square.
Michigan showed up a lot for my first time on this quiz. Lol.
Love this! I am enjoying a lot of your quizzes, but this one is now my favorite.
Unless the image seems to be very obvious right off the bat, I almost automatically guess CA, IL, IN, NJ, NY. Half the time it seems like it’s one of those 5 states.
Another fantastic quiz. There is a lot of benefit in guessing CA and NJ before you know which state it is. 😀
This is so much fun! Is there any chance you’ll be adding more cities to this? I’ve played a few times now and am getting a lot of repeats.
hmm there are a few thousand cities it can choose from each time you play. are there certain specific cities you are seeing a lot?
Sorry, I guess I meant that I am seeing a lot of NJ and IL. I am seeing a few cities a few times but I don’t remember which ones they are. Sorry to be a bother!
oh most likely due to them having lots of 5k cities 🙂
alright, thanks!
ah, here’s one I’ve gotten 4 or 5 times: Bath, NY
This is an awesome one, I could do this all day!
go crazy! 🙂
This one was fun! One of them was a town a couple hours from me that I got pretty fast.
yes I have all labels on for this quiz – so you may get lucky seeing the state name in a place’s label. but it seemed more fun this way and too difficult to get anything quickly without labels.
