This quiz is only available in Head-To-Head mode.

First, choose a difficulty by typing ‘beg’, ‘int’, ‘adv, or ‘exp’ – Beginner is 5 degrees, Intermediate 2.5 degrees, Advanced 1 degrees, and Expert 0.5 degrees. The player with the highest score at the end of the quiz wins.

Europe Grid Path Challenge – All Cities

Choose a level by typing ‘beg’, ‘int’, ‘adv’, or ‘exp’ – beg level is 5 degree squares, int 2.5 degrees, adv 1 degree, and exp 0.5 degrees. Then, name any 10K+ Europe city to start with by entering it (cities with the same name will choose the largest city of that name first). The grid square you are starting in will turn yellow - you now must name any city in any one of the adjacent grid squares (not including diagonal) - so any grid square directly north, south, east or west of the yellow one. Naming a city in one of these squares will turn your original square red and the current newly named city square yellow - continue in the same way trying to make a path of as many squares as you can. You are not allowed to return to a red square, and if you get 'boxed in' with no squares left to complete the quiz will also end.

Please note, as you name cities it will answer the largest city first, so if you are trying to answer a city in a square to the east but a larger city of that name occurs a square to the north, the north one will be answered.

Obviously, due to the layout and separation of squares it will be impossible to complete all of them.

You will then have '1/5' and need to click on that square to name the 2nd largest city, and so on until you complete all the cities up to 5 (or less if less exist). The first 10 cities will be 100K+, the next 10 50-100K, next 10 25-50K and the balance (until you run out of time or guess wrong) will be 10-25K. When you guess wrong the correct location will be shown as a pink marker.

France Grid Head To Head City Capture

This quiz is only available in Head-To-Head mode.

First, choose a difficulty by typing ‘beg’, ‘int’, ‘adv, or ‘exp’ – Beginner is 2 degrees, Intermediate 1 degree, Advanced 0.5 degrees, and Expert 0.25 degrees. Then, take turns entering the largest French city (min 1K population) in each grid square of the size based on your difficulty. Green squares contain answers. There will be a white (Player 1) and a black (Player 2) competitor - when you answer a square it will fill in with your color.

When you have a square with your color surrounded in all directions (north, south, east, west - whichever are available) by other squares also of your color, it becomes 'captured' and the city in that surrounded square has its population added to your score.

The player with the highest score at the end of the quiz wins.

So for example in this World quiz, Black has scored on Chicago (circled) and Anchorage, and white has scored on Madrid (circled) and Reykjavik.

France Grid Path Challenge – All Cities

Choose a level by typing ‘beg’, ‘int’, ‘adv’, or ‘exp’ – beg level is 2 degree squares, int 1 degrees, adv 0.5 degree, and exp 0.25 degrees. Then, name any France 1K+ city to start with by entering it (cities with the same name will choose the largest city of that name first).

Be aware that as you name cities it will answer the largest city first, so if you are trying to answer a city in a square to the east but a larger city of that name occurs a square to the north, the north one will be answered.

Obviously, due to the layout and separation of squares it will be impossible to complete all of them.

hugequiz Premium members will see the largest missed city in each possible next square at the end of the quiz as purple markers.

Type 'easy' or 'hard' to begin the quiz. Easy is a 2-degree grid, hard is a 1-degree grid. Then, try to name the largest French cities in each square IN ORDER. To name a city, you must first click on the grid square to make it have a GREEN border. Then, type in the city answer for that square followed by a '.' (a period).

The squares will start with '0/5' (or maybe fewer cities if less exist in that square). Click on a square and enter the largest city in that square not yet answered (so, the largest city if you have yet to answer a city in that square). You will then have '1/5' and need to click on that square to name the 2nd largest city, and so on until you complete all the cities up to 5 (or less if less exist). If you name an incorrect city in a square it becomes 'locked' and turns red and you can no longer accumulate cities in that square.

You receive 1 point for the largest city in a square, 2 for the 2nd largest, and so on.

At the end of the quiz the largest remaining city you haven't named will be shown in each square.

Italy Grid Head To Head City Capture

This quiz is only available in Head-To-Head mode.

First, choose a difficulty by typing ‘beg’, ‘int’, ‘adv, or ‘exp’ – Beginner is 2 degrees, Intermediate 1 degree, Advanced 0.5 degrees, and Expert 0.25 degrees. Then, take turns entering the largest Italian city in each grid square of the size based on your difficulty. Green squares contain answers. When you have a square with your color surrounded in all directions (north, south, east, west - whichever are available) by other squares also of your color, it becomes 'captured' and the city in that surrounded square has its population added to your score.

The player with the highest score at the end of the quiz wins.

Be aware that as you name cities it will answer the largest city first, so if you are trying to answer a city in a square to the east but a larger city of that name occurs a square to the north, the north one will be answered.

Spain Grid Head To Head City Capture

This quiz is only available in Head-To-Head mode.

First, choose a difficulty by typing ‘beg’, ‘int’, ‘adv, or ‘exp’ – Beginner is 2 degrees, Intermediate 1 degree, Advanced 0.5 degrees, and Expert 0.25 degrees. Then, take turns entering the largest Spanish city in each grid square of the size based on your difficulty. Green squares contain answers. When you have a square with your color surrounded in all directions (north, south, east, west - whichever are available) by other squares also of your color, it becomes 'captured' and the city in that surrounded square has its population added to your score.

The player with the highest score at the end of the quiz wins.

Spain Grid Path Challenge – All Cities

Choose a level by typing ‘beg’, ‘int’, ‘adv’, or ‘exp’ – beg level is 2 degree squares, int 1 degrees, adv 0.5 degree, and exp 0.25 degrees. Then, name any Spain city to start with by entering it (cities with the same name will choose the largest city of that name first).

Be aware that as you name cities it will answer the largest city first, so if you are trying to answer a city in a square to the east but a larger city of that name occurs a square to the north, the north one will be answered.

Obviously, due to the layout and separation of squares it will be impossible to complete all of them.

You will then have '1/5' and need to click on that square to name the 2nd largest city, and so on until you complete all the cities up to 5 (or less if less exist).
